When I first began my personal website in about 2000, I wrote “We have great family times together including weekly dinners after Church on Sundays, a Family Home Evening each Monday night where the individual families meet together, family service projects, an annual 3-day JAMS event, as well as fantastic Family Reunions we enjoy with extended family and friends.”
In July 2010, my entry said “I am moving to a smaller home and we won’t all be together as we used to at my home, but we gather at our mountain home in Heber, Utah and the families continue to enjoy weekly Family Home Evening on Monday nights. I get to visit with them often in their homes. We’ve adjusted and adaptted over the last ten years to our larger family and to growing older.”
Now, in November 2017, I am living in The Abbington Senior Living Center. We still get together at least once a year for our JAMS 3-day (which is usually 1.5 days…) and at other holidays. I’m excited to continue the tradition of Grandma’s Christmas Dinner where all grandkids over 8 years of age are invited for their special dinner. We have a nice meal, do a service project and receive some funds from Grandma to learn about sharing and giving.
Over all these years of trying to get a website that shares information with my family, many things remain constant. Four JAMS sons served missions and six JAMS grandchildren have or are serving missions to help others come unto Christ and feel the joy of the Gospel. Two grandchildren have married. The constant is that our family knows there is a purpose for life and that ‘families are forever.’ We share our testimony with all that God lives, that we are his children and he loves us. We testify that his son, Jesus Christ, is literally our Savior and Redeemer. We are so grateful for the scriptures which we love to read and study together. We hope you will click here to learn more of our family beliefs.
